MAS TEQUILA!: What better way to celebrate Mexican Independence Day (and no, it isn’t Cinco de Mayo), with a dinner devoted to the wonder that is tequila? Head to Agave Grill & Tequila Bar in Hartford for a Patron Tequila Dinner. The evening includes a reception and a three course meal, with each course featuring a different Mexican beverage. Topping it off is dessert which has a trio of tres leches cake and a flight of Patron tequila. Save the worm for us! Tickets are $45 and seating is limited to 40 people. 6:30pm.

GASTRONOMY 101: Culinary students at the Hartford Culinary Arts Academy are putting on a gastronomic show at their open house tonight. Students, parents and teachers will show off all the techniques they’re mastering. People will get to feast on a variety of hot and cold dishes and dessert. 5-7pm.

CHUCKLES FOR CHARITY: Tonight marks the third annual MS Comedy Night. Head to the Hartford Funny Bone Comedy Club in Manchester to have your funny bones tickled and help out a great cause at the same time. Nationally-renowned comedian Jim Colliton will headline the event and will be joined by newcomer Mike Whitman. Proceeds from the evening will benefit the Connecticut chapter of the National MS Society which provides funding to help find a cure for Multiple Sclerosis. Tickets are $25. 7-9pm.
