9/20: Rock it Out

CHAINED MELODY:  They were one of the biggest bands of the grunge era. They were also one of the poster bands of the Behind the Music era. Alice in Chains had everything: a major following, hit record after hit record, critical acclaim and limitless potential. Then came the drugs, the fighting and the tragic death of Lane Staley. But through it all, Alice in Chains has kept on doing what they do. And tonight, they're part of an uber triple bill taking the stage at Mohegan Sun Arena. Alice in Chains will be joined by the Deftones (Grammy winners touring in support of their sixth studio effort) and Mastadon (one of the most critically acclaimed hard rock bands of the past few years). Tickets are $45. The show starts at 7 p.m.

OLD SCHOOL:  Perhaps you're not into the whole grunge/hard rock thing, but you're still in the Mohegan neighborhood. Rock it retro tonight in the Wolf Den with the Main Street Cruisers. The band will play all your favorites from the '50s, '60s and '70s. Their free show starts at 7 p.m.

PAGING CHARLIE DANIELS: The football season has returned and that means your built-in excuse to go out Monday night is back as well. And David Burke Prime at Foxwoods is the prime (get it?) place to check out tonight's match-up (New Orleans vs. San Francisco). The restaurant's Samuel Adams Monday Night Football Menu features tailgate-quality apps like mussels, wings, mini-tacos and more. Entrees include a carnivore's favorites, like prime rib and prime chopped steak. Oh yeah, don't forget about the game, which you can watch in the bar or private dining room. Your price of admission is $35 and that will also get you free beer).
