9/3-9/6: Don't Miss a Thing

PUMPED:  You know 'em.  You love 'em.  Rock 'n' Roll wouldn't be the same without them.  Aerosmith are truly music royalty (even if they can't stand each other anymore).  And Friday night, they are hitting the stage at Mohegan Sun Arena.  You don't need us to run down their songs, their albums or even their E! True Hollywood Story history.  The name just says it all.  Tickets for the show aren't cheap for the Cocked, Locked, Ready to Rock Tour.  But if you can swing the $135-$185, you can not only see Aerosmith, but also the Mighty Mighty Bosstones.  The show starts at 8 p.m.

POISON:  Also at Mohegan, and also Friday night, Hip Hop legends (too far?) Bel Biv Devoe are performing.  After New Edition broke up in the late '80s, BBD kept the legacy going and reached new heights for a post boy band group.  And 20ish years later, Ricky, Michael and Ronnie are still performing.  The Wolf Den is their stage Friday night at 8 p.m. for a free show.

HOOK:  The burst onto the music scene back in the '90s with their mega hit "Run Around."  And while their commercial appeal has faded a bit over the years, Blues Traveler hasn't ever stopped their relentless road schedule.  Through tragedy (the loss of a bandmember) and triumph (John Popper's major weight loss) the boys have been rocking right along.  Saturday night, their signature, Grammy Award-winning sound will be heard throughout Windsor at the SummerWind Performing Arts CenterBlues Traveler is the fourth and final show in the venue's 2010 concert series.  Tickets are $35-60.  The show starts at 6:30 p.m.

SUB-URBAN:  In the past few years, country music has seen some unprecedented success.  And not many artists have been more popular than Keith Urban.  Sunday night, Urban will play his hits at the Oakdale in Wallingford.  And Keith won't be by himself.  American Idol winner Kris Allen will also perform.  Tickets are $73.50.  The show starts at 7:30pm.

BEER AND BASEBALL:  There may not be two things in this world that go together more than a baseball game and a cold beer.  And Saturday night, the New Britain Rock Cats are celebrating their final homestand of the season by hosting the "Biggest, Baddest Ballpark Beer Tasting Ever."  For just $25, fans (of baseball and/or beer) can enjoy a variety of brews, food and a seat for the game.  The tasting begins at 6:05, and the Cats game against the Trenton Thunder starts an hour later.  Proceeds from the evening will benefit the families of the victims of the tragedy at Hartford Beer Distributors.

ALL'S FAIR:  It's September in Connecticut, and you know what that means.  It's time to hit the fairgrounds.  This weekend brings us the Woodstock Fair and thhe Goshen Fair.  Both provide all the entertainment, food, games, rides and food that you'd expect from a fair.  Click here for a full rundown of events in Woodstock and here for all the fun happenings in Goshen.  Both fairs will have you experience a taste of CT through the entire holiday weekend.

ROCKING THE HILLS:  The state's oldest celebration of food and wine returns for its 25th year this Labor Day Weekend, and it's in a new venue this year.  A Taste of the Litcfield Hills hits the track at Lime Rock Park Friday through Monday.  The festival features the region’s outstanding food and wine purveyors (woo hoo SAT word!), plus live musical entertainment and an outdoor bazaar, featuring artisan crafts, gourmet food products and unique gifts.  Plus, there's plenty of racing at the historic track.  Food prices range from $4-$8 per item.
