Amazing Time in MIddlefield

The sunflower maze at Lyman Orchards opens this weekend with 3-acres of pirate-themed adventure.

Pirates with treasure maps and clues will help you find your way through the floral sea.

“Getting lost is all about finding fun,” John Lyman III, executive vice president and 8th generation family member., said in a news release “Families and friends enter an unfamiliar yet inviting place, and they are up-lifted by the challenge, and always in a happy mood.”

Your adventure is all for a good cause.

A dollar of every sunflower maze ticket goes to the pediatric cancer unit at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford. You can avoid the lines and buy tickets online through Lyman Orchard’s website.

The maze is open through Aug. 28. It also marks the beginning of apple season.

Our mild winter and warm spring means apples have arrived early. You can pick your own at Lyman Orchards starting on Saturday.
