Litchfield Restaurant Staff Gets a Show, Compliments of Joan Rivers

Joan Rivers, a regular at the West Street Grille in Litchfield, gave an unsuspecting kitchen staff quite a story to tell on Saturday.

She apparently had become annoyed about customers around her ordering special items that not on the menu, the Hartford Courant reports

But the staff did a great job in handling the crowd, so she asked restaurant owner James O'Shea if she could meet the chef.

After making her way into the kitchen to compliment executive chef James Cosgriff, Rivers began an impromptu routine described as "restaurant-rage comedy," the Courant reports.  After hitting a home run with her surprised audience, Rivers was gone.
