School Gets Special Hot Chelle Rae Show

The band behind “Tonight Tonight” and “I Like It Like That” will visit Tolland Middle School.

Tolland Middle School is getting a special treat next month. Hot Chelle Rae is coming and putting on a special show just for the school.

The band behind “Tonight Tonight” and “I Like It Like That” will be visiting the school because the students won the Stuff a Bus charity challenge, Tolland Middle School Principal Walt Willett said.

Community service is something the school focuses on and the students hold fundraisers for various charities throughout the year.

When the student council heard about KC 101.3’s Stuff a Bus challenge, it fit perfectly into what they already do.

A group of radio stations was asking for schools to collect food and money for the Connecticut Food Bank to help the less fortunate.

The winning school would get an exclusive performance from Hot Chelle Rae.

“This is just one of 10 fundraising efforts they do every year,” Willett said. “When they started this, they did not get into it thinking they would win.”

By holding dances and special drives, they raised more than $3,245 and outperformed the other groups.

Now, there is quite a buzz in school and school officials are working out the details on the concert.

Willett said the show will be on Dec. 7, probably near the end of the school day, and all the students will be able to attend.
