The Dirty Side of Mark Twain

Fresh off the heels of having his recently released autobiography featured in Playboy, some of Mark Twain’s less “mainstream” literature will be shared will at City Steam’s Brew Ha Ha Comedy Club.

Confused?

It shouldn’t be a shock that Mark Twain would be featured at a comedy club. His wit shows through most of his published works, but the material to be shared at City Steam is not suitable for your next family gathering – if anyone under 21 is will be there.

Twain himself said, “If I can’t swear in heaven, I shall not stay there,” so expect plenty of raw, uncensored material from Samuel Clemens.

The event is call “R-Rated Twain” and Sea Tea Improv -- a product of the Hartford Stage Company and the Upright Citizens Brigade -- will deliver Twain texts that mention personal hygiene, intimate relations, and pretty much everything else in between.

The show starts at 7 p.m. at the City Steam Brew Ha Ha Comedy Club on Thursday, Jan. 27. Tickets are $15, $10 from members. You can learn more here.
