It's Thursday night, so that means I'm locked in my house watching the Celtics and trying not to break things. But there's way more fun things to do in Connecticut tonight.
Oneself Magazine presents a night filled with music, martinis and more. The lounge will be transformed with Miami decor, a perfect destination for young, hot Hartford. DJ P. Nice of New York City will spin the best of house, hip-hop and R&B.
The night starts at 9 p.m. and the party goes until 1 a.m. Ladies get in free until 11 p.m., and it's just $10 for guys. For RSVP and VIP information, e-mail Info@oneselfmag.com.
IN THE CARDS: Head to Tisane Euro-Asian Café in Hartford. They have tarot card readings every Thursday night, from 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. It's just $10 for a 10-minute reading. Be sure to get there early to reserve your time slot. Plus, you can enjoy one of Tisane's 40+ martinis while you wait (or if the reading doesn't go so well, you can drown your sorrows with those same martinis).
EASE ON DOWN: To the Playhouse on the Green in Bridgeport to see "The Wiz." The ground-breaking show from Charlie Smalls and William F. Brown retells L. Frank Baum's tale of "The Wonderful Wizard of OZ" through gospel and R&B music.
Tickets are just $32. Performance times vary, so check out the Playhouse on the Green website for a detailed schedule.
