7/16: Mystic, Mortensen and Middletown

Hold it steady: Check out Cocktails with the Whales in Mystic.
Summertime is the perfect time to hit the beach and an even better time to enjoy some cocktails! And what better way to enjoy that cocktail than with the whales?
Head to the Mystic Aquarium & Institute for Exploration for Cocktails with the Whales. You can enjoy drinks, food and live music in the warm evening air in front of the Arctic Coast exhibit and the three resident beluga whales. Cocktails are served from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. The price is $5 per person with a cash bar.
If you're looking to get your groove on, head to the Mortensen Riverfront Plaza for "Mass Conn Fusion." The PolytechnicON20 presents music and dancing by the Connecticut River. If you just want to dance, it's $15. Add in a three-course dinner for $45.
Finally, for a little theater, head to Middletown for Shakespeare in the Grove 2009. You can catch a free outdoor performance of The Taming of the Shrew. It's at Middlesex Community College at 7:00 p.m. There is a suggested donation of $20 for adults and $10 for children.
