6/22: Golf, Grills and Goodspeed Opera House

Lobstermania highlights Monday's events around town. Is your mouth watering yet?

It's back to work on Monday, but there's more to do than just dread four more days until the weekend.

If you've got the Monday blues, head to Manchester. The Hungry Tiger on Charter Oak Street hosts its Open Mic Blues Jam. If that kind of music doesn't make you more depressed about the start of the week, check it out. The event has features different hosts and drink specials.

Sports fans can head to Cromwell. If you're much better at watching golf than playing (like I am), events kick off for the Travelers Championship at the TPC River Highlands. The Aetna Tournament Players Pro-Am tees off at noon.

Hungry (I'm always up for a good meal)? Middletown might be your best bet. It's Lobster Mania at the Tuscany Grill on College Street. You can enjoy the seafood specialty under the stars (if you're into that romantic kinda thing).

If you have two left feet like I do, help is out there. The Covenant Congregational Church in West Hartford hosts Argentine Tango lessons. The class starts at 7p.m.

And finally, for fans of the stage, the Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam transforms into "42nd Street." See the Broadway story of a stage-struck understudy who became and overnight star.

Enjoy Monday, and remember, you're one day closer to Friday.
