10/27: Dancing, Dinner and Disfarming

SMOKIN' DINNER: Join Black Eyed Sally's in Hartford for the 8th Annual Cigar Dinner with the Tobacco Shop. The evening begins at 6 p.m. with cocktails, passed appetizers and cigars. Beginning at 7 p.m., the dinner buffet includes some of Sally's favorites and enjoy specially-priced Guinness, Smithwicks and Bass beers all night.  The price is $65 and includes dinner, tax, tip and 4 cigars.

LOVE TUESDAY: Schedule too packed to make an appearance at every Connecticut hot spot on the weekends? Shrine at Foxwoods has you covered with I Love Tuesdays, the official spot for industry people to party during the week.  The Asian-inspired party place goes just as big Tuesday nights, leaving even the most dedicated of weekend warriors jealous. Enjoy great drink specials and hotel rooms at a special rate.

DISFARMING: Growing up in small-town Arkansas gave photographer Mike Disfarmer (born Mike Meyers) a good glimpse into the lives of farmers. He brings that knowledge to a new exhibit called "Mike Disfarmer: Photographs," on display now at Wesleyan University's Ezra and Cecile Zilkha Gallery. The exhibit captures the lives and emotions of rural Arkansans at the height of the Great Depression.
