11/23: Eating and Giving Food

Head to West Hartford tonight for a meal you won't soon forget.

THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES:  Forget pizza and wings.  We're looking for something a little extra for our Monday Night meal this week. How about lobster and filet? Yeah, that sounds pretty good. Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar in West Hartford Center is offering its "Memorable Meal." You get the crustacean and the steak for two for just $99. Your meal includes filet-stuffed lobster tails with side dishes and dessert.

POST WORK, PRE-LATE NIGHT:  Maybe you have to get up early Tuesday morning. Maybe you have plans later to check out "New Moon" or "The Blind Side." Maybe you want to take your grandparents out for dinner. Or maybe, just maybe, you really like to eat. Whatever your reason, Hot Tomato's in Hartford is your hot spot. For $19.95 per person, you can enjoy a four-course, early-bird pre-fix meal. If you don't quite have your appetite between 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., just stop in for a drink and an app. There are Happy Hour specials from 4 to 6 p.m. It's the perfect start to your Monday evening.

GOODSPEED TAKE 2:  OK, so we've already told you about "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum," playing right now at the Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam. But now might be the time to either see it again or head down to the theater for the first time. Not only can you enjoy a classic comedy performance, but you can help a great cause at the same time. Goodspeed Musicals is holding its Annual Food Drive. Theatergoers who bring non-perishable foods to tonight's performance will get a special buy-one-ticket, get-one-free offer. The donations will benefit the East Haddam Food Bank. Tickets (pre-deal) are $29.50 to $77.50.  7:30 p.m.
