7/22: Forces Of Nature

MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU:  A long time ago... in a galaxy far, far away... That's right folks, it's all about Star Wars tonight.  Anthony Daniels, C-3PO himself, will be at Mohegan Sun tonight to narrate Star Wars: In Concert.  The event features a full symphony orchestra and choir, accompanied by specially edited footage from all six films displayed on a three-story H-D screen.  It promises to be a must-see for any true Star Wars die hard.  Here's the best part, guests are welcome to, in fact encouraged to arrive in costume (just don't expect to get on the casino floor dressed as a Stormtrooper.)  Tickets are $45-$85.  The show starts at 7:30 p.m.  Click here for more info.

HITTING THE MARKET:  Main St. in downtown Torrington will be closed off tonight, but it's not for construction.  It's for the Main Street Marketplace, a European style open air marketplace.  From 5 p.m.-9 p.m. you can enjoy fresh fruit and vegetable stands, artist booths and  restaurant vendors.  There are even live jazz musicians lining the street.  Can't make it tonight?  Fear not my WYDT fans.  The Marketplace runs every Thursday night through August 26.

GET FOLKY:  For half a century, Joan Baez has taking to stages around the world with her brand of folk music.  In that time, she's become one of the most influential artists of her time; not just as a singer/songwriter, but as a social voice as well.  Her performance at the original Woodstock remains one of the highlights of the historic event.  Tonight, you can see Baez on stage at the Warner Theatre in Torrington.  Tickets are $30, $40 and $60.  The show starts at 8 p.m.
