Berry Picking Season Is Here

Pick your own strawberries, cherries and blueberries.

After a long hard snowy winter, the season for sun-ripened fruit has arrived.

The season for strawberries and cherries is here.

Cherries are ripe now and at the March Farm in Bethlehem and you will be able to pick your own as of Friday. Plan now to fill your buckets because cherry picking season is short.

In Enfield, no bending is necessary. You can call ahead with your order for berries from the Easy Pickin's Orchard. The orchard opens for the season on June 25.

Maple Lane Farms in Preston will be ready with blueberries and raspberries in July. Call ahead to check on the current field conditions and picking times.

Berry picking is not only a nice way to spend a sunny summer day; it will also save you money because raspberries and blueberries cost less than $3 a pound.

At Lyman Orchards in Middlefield, the annual berry festival will be on July 9. The celebration includes live music, family activities and food.
