Burger Joint Coming to Town

Jake's Hamburgers plans a third location in Connecticut.

The “Best Burgers Under the Bun” is coming to Mystic.

That’s right --  “Jake’s Hamburgers” is opening its third Connecticut location this spring. The burger chain is taking over the former site of the Starbucks on Route 27, according to The Day

The burger joint is joining the already crowded field of restaurants in the area including “Five Guys Burger and Fries,” “McDonalds” and “Friendly’s.”

"We like the transient traffic there. That's part of the reason we like Mystic. We also look at how are competitors are doing. If they are doing well, we feel there is a piece of the market for us because we feel we do a better job," said John Eucalitto, the president of Jake's Franchising LLC of Cheshire to the Day.

So what sets Jake’s Hamburgers apart from the others? The restaurant claims they serve fresh food, not fast food and its hand-pattied burgers are never frozen, reports the Day.

If a burger isn’t for you, there’s chicken, salads and don’t forget the milkshakes.

Jake’s Hamburgers also has restaurants in East Windsor and Rocky Hill.

The burger chain started in Delaware in 1991, becoming a popular stop for students at the University of Delaware.
