We're quickly approaching the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic.

To mark the occasion, a New Canaan restaurant is helping people relieve the grandeur of the ill-fated voyage.

On Saturday, April 14, The Roger Sherman Inn will host a recreation of the Titanic's last dinner

That's the day the "unsinkable ship" hit the iceberg that led to its tragic end.

Throughout the night, guests will get a taste of the decadence and elegance that Titanic's passengers experienced.

It starts with a lavish champagne welcome and continues with a seven-course meal that recreates the final First Class menu.  There will also be plenty of dancing to music of the area and an open bar.

“The Final Dinner on the Titanic will be an once-in-a-lifetime event. We’re creating an amazing evening with lots of touches that replicate the Titanic," owner Nes Jaffre said. "Guests will be issued boarding passes, with actual personalities from the ship. I really hope people will get into the spirit and get creative with costuming. There will be some surprises, but let me say that our guests will be treated royally and feel as though they’re on a journey to another era.”

"First Class" tickets for the event cost $250 per person, or you can buy a Gold Club table for 10 for $2,000. If that's too steep a price to pay, you can get a "Steerage" ticket for $25.  That includes access to the bar and lounge, live music, hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar. And 10 percent of the night's proceeds will go to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief.

Seating is limited, so call (203) 966-4541 for reservations.
