Lack of Summer Friday got you down? There's nothing like retail therapy.

Does your job give you Summer Friday?  Lucky you!  If not, take it off anyway!

Either way, I recommend you take into account all those days you didn't take off to go to the beach this summer and spend your shopping day in the fresh air at West Hartford's Blue Back Square.

Cuvée has their Friday Happy Hour with 2-for-1 sparkling wine and $5 sushi. Salmon, caviar, and champagne are the decadent components of the Champagne Roll, and Truffled Roe and Crab make up the Be Square Roll. Sushi not your thing? While they have a plethora of delectable small bites, I would opt for the Sexy Donut, practically guilt-free angel food cake, spiked with champagne icing.

National Jean Company is offering 30 percent off Juicy Couture track suits, 50 percent off select seasonal staples -- and starting this weekend, 20 percent off all white jeans. Stacks of my old trusty favorites, Paige and 7 for All Mankind, are priced at $99 per pair, and you can grab two for $175. Also, one of my favorite things about NJC is that they mark down entire brand collections at a time, so once you discover which label you love, you can really strike it big - super soft, 70's inspired A-list favorite, Anlo, is currently 30 percent off.

Then, if you're looking for Chan Luu's coveted crystal and gold filigree wrap bracelets, stop into Homeward Bound, owned by former Bendels and Barneys buyer, Kathy Walsh. And with a repertoire like that, shopping the 20 percent off Kathy's faves sale, is always in good taste!
