If you're lucky enough to have a long weekend for the Fourth of July holiday and you're feeling patriotic, head to Simsbury for the annual "Talcott Mountain Music Festival: Celebrate America!"  The Hartford Symphony will lead the night with American classics.  The event is at the Performing Arts Center at Simsbury Meadows at 7:30 p.m.

Looking to unwind before the holiday? The Pour House on Allyn Street in Hartford has 99 Cent bottle night. For $3.98, you can get two bottles of Miller Lite, two house shots and all the peanuts and popcorn you can eat.

If beer isn't your thing, but birds are, head to the Mystic Aquarium & Institute for Exploration where you can take a look at the birds of the outback. It's an exhibit that features hundreds of colorful Australian birds. The exhibit is open through Sept. 13.

And the Claire Lynch Band is performing at the Sounds of Summer Concert Series. The music is a mix of jazz, Americana, folk and bluegrass with some storytelling added in.  You can catch the group on the East Hartford Town Green at 6 p.m.

Have a great night!
