5/6: Music and Moms

MAN AT WORK:  You know him and love him from his days with Australian '80s hit machine Men at Work.  We love him for his participation in the TV show Scrubs and on the Garden State Soundtrack. Tonight, Colin Hay, the man responsible for "Down Under," and "Who Can it be Now" will take the stage in Connecticut.  See An Evening with Colin Hay tonight at the Garde Arts Center in New London. Tickets are $45. Show is at 7:30 p.m.

EARLY MOTHER'S DAY PRESENT:  Sons, daughters and husbands everywhere are preparing to make breakfast in bed for Mom this Sunday.  But moms, are you ready to celebrate now? Head to downtown New Haven tonight for Mom's Night Out. The Chapel and Broadway Merchant Associations are inviting moms to the Elm city for a free night of pampering, in-store promotions and restaurant deals. Stores will offer 20 percent off most items, in-store demos, massages, free hair and skin products, beauty consultations, chocolate tastings, wine and cheese plates and the list goes on. Participating stores will offer drink, appetizer and entree specials. Runs from 5 to 8 p.m.

BANK ON IT:  It's another night of Hip-hop at Toad's Place in New Haven50 Cent is returning to the stage in Connecticut in June. Until then, satisfy your G-Unit cravings with Lloyd Banks. Banks joined the group back in 2003, but went out on his own in 2004. After being dropped by Interscope records in 2007, Banks is back in demand thanks to his latest track, "Beamer, Benz or Bentley," which is part of his latest album, set to drop later this year. Tickets for tonight's show are $30. Show is on 10 p.m.
