Jane Caffrey is a reporter for NBC Connecticut. She can be seen weekdays during the NBC Connecticut News at 7 p.m.
Prior to joining NBC Connecticut, Jane was an evening anchor at WDBJ7 in Roanoke, VA, and a reporter and weekend anchor at KRIS 6 News in Corpus Christi, TX. She began her broadcast career an entertainment news producer for CNN in Los Angeles and New York.
Jane enjoys telling important stories about the human experience. She is passionate about sharing news that impacts Latino communities as well as covering the issues that impact veterans, having lived in different areas with military bases and strong veterans networks.
Major national stories she has covered include the protests in Richmond, VA in the wake of George Floyd’s death, Hurricane Harvey’s landfall in South Texas, and the Sutherland Springs, TX church shooting. She also traveled to Puerto Rico with U.S. Customs and Border Protection to cover the delivery of supplies after Hurricane Maria.
In addition, Jane has covered multiple entertainment awards shows and red carpet events, including the Oscars, Golden Globes, and Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Jane is a graduate of Carleton College and NYU’s Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute.
In her spare time, Jane enjoys outdoor activities, trying out new restaurants, visiting museums, and spending time with her dog. She is looking forward to exploring Connecticut and learning more about New England, one of the most historic and culturally rich regions of the country.
