9 Basketball Players Named to AAC All-Academic Team

The University of Connecticut placed 180 student-athletes on the American Athletic Conference All-Academic team, the AAC announced Wednesday.

The list includes five members of Geno Auriemma's national championship squad: Bria Hartley, Tierney Lawlor, Briana Pulido, Breanna Stewart and Kiah Stokes.

And four members of Kevin Ollie's national championship team were also recognized: Nnamdi Amilo, Omar Calhoun, Pat Lenehan and Leon Tolksdorf.

Details on the nomination process, via the news release:

"To be eligible for the honor, a nominee must have competed in an American Athletic Conference-sponsored sport, attained a minimum grade-point average of 3.00 for the preceding academic year, and completed a minimum of two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters of academic work, with a total of 18 semester or 27 quarter credits, not including remedial courses."

Women's rowing led all UConn teams with 31 members named to the AAC All-Academic squad.
