DUI Charges Against Tyler Olander Dropped

The UConn forward's blood alcohol content was below the legal limit, prosecutors said.

UConn forward Tyler Olander has pleaded guilty to driving without a license.

Olander was suspended from the basketball team indefinitely earlier month after he was charged with operating under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

A prosecutor said Monday at Rockville Superior Court that officers believed he was drunk, but tests showed Olander was under the legal limit. He was pulled over near the Storrs campus after he was reported to be driving erratically.

Olander was fined $75 as part of a plea deal.

The 21-year-old, 6-foot-10 senior from Mansfield, was barred from team activities for a month earlier this year after being charged with trespassing in Panama City, Fla., while on spring break. He agreed to a fine and community service in that case.
