Jefferson Excited About Representing USA

Moriah Jefferson has quietly become one of the most dangerous players in the college game. Often, most of the attention is paid to Breanna Stewart, but Jefferson is the engine that makes that offense run smoothly. And now she's representing her country as part of the United States Pan-American Games, an honor, despite all the success, she's not taking for granted.

“I’m really happy to make the team and represent my country again,” Jefferson said, via SNY.com's Carl Adamec. “I’m looking forward to playing in the Pan-Am Games and playing with Stewie again. Playing with her is always exciting and always fun and it’s the third time in the last four summers that I’ve been able to do it.”

In addition to Stewart, Jefferson got to watch some of UConn's incoming freshman; Katie Lou Samuelson and Napheesa Collier were recently named to U-19 national team that will play in the world championships later this summer.

“It looked like they were doing some real good things,” Jefferson said. “Katie Lou was knocking down shots and Napheesa and De’Janae (Boykin) were aggressive going for the ball. It already seems like they play really well together.”

It's hardly surprising that the Huskies will be prohibitive favorites to win their fourth straight national title next season.
