Report: UConn to Host Package Recruits

While coach Kevin Ollie continues to recruit for the 2015 class, it's never too early to look ahead. And according to the ZagsBlog, Derryck Thornton and Tyus Battle will visit UConn on Thursday -- as a package deal.

Other schools in the mix for the Thornton-Battle combo include Michigan, Kentucky and Florida (all have offered the duo scholarships).

“I still want to see them play together and they sound like still want to play together,” Tank Thornton, Derryck’s father, told SNY.tv earlier this week. “And after speaking to Gary (Battle, Tyus' father) and Tyus, it sounds like they want to play together as well.”

Derryck, however, was more practical about the recruiting process.

“We talked about (playing together), but if it happens it would be great, if it doesn’t, then it won’t," he said.

Meanwhile, ZagsBlog.com reports that wing player Ray Smith will also visit Storrs. After cutting his list of schools to 10 in May -- a list that didn't include the Huskies -- he's now reconsidered.

“UConn is on my list now,” Smith said.
