UConn Looking for New Offensive Coordinator

UConn football coach Bob Diaco says he will conduct a national search for a new offensive coordinator.

Diaco demoted coordinator Frank Verducci earlier this month and promoted running backs coach David Corley into that role, calling him a future icon in the profession.

But the Huskies (3-9, 1-7 American Athletic Conference) finished the season Saturday with their sixth straight loss, 38-13 to Tulane.

UConn is ranked 122nd among the 128 Bowl Subdivision teams in total offense and last in scoring at under 15 points a game.

Diaco issued a statement Monday saying Verducci, who had working with tackles and tight ends since his demotion, will not return to the staff next year.

The release did not mention Corley, but said Diaco would evaluate each member of his staff in the coming weeks.

Diaco, who has a $5 million buyout clause in his contract, has said he expects to return next season.
