Jessica Chastain Is on Tom Cruise's “Horizons”

It was only a matter of time before Jessica Chastain went blockbuster.

Jessica Chastain, currently enjoying one of the busiest rookie seasons in Hollywood history, will star opposite Tom Cruise in "Horizons," reported Variety.

"Horizons," previously known as "Oblivion," will star Cruise as a soldier sent into exile to clean up a distant planet as punishment for a crime, where he discovers a woman in an escape pod, forcing the soldier to reconsider his entire belief system.

The film was co-written by Oscar winner William Monahan, comic book scribe Arvid Nelson and Joseph Kosinski, the latter of whom is also directing. Kosinski's first feature was last year's woefully disappointing "Tron: Legacy."

Chastain's next film is Jeff Nichols' "Take Shelter," just one of her seven features out this year. In 2012, she's only got three films on her dance card, "The Wettest Country in the World," an untitled Terrence Malick film and "Mama."

Due in July 19, 2013, "Horizons" represents Chastain's first foray into the world of big-budget moviemaking, which is pretty incredible when you consider how quickly her star has risen. Well played, Ms. Chastain.
