Sandra Jones is a consumer investigative reporter for NBC Connecticut Responds.
Sandra is passionate about people and believes that everyone has a story to tell. She is proud to step up and help viewers when they have a problem.
Sandra comes to NBC Connecticut from WTVR-TV in Richmond, Virginia where she was a reporter, anchor and investigative reporter.
Her reporting includes several presidential visits, weather disasters, and election night coverage.
She is most proud of helping to get city fire hydrants repaired and replaced.
Before Richmond, Sandra worked at WPTA-TV in Fort Wayne, Indiana and she also worked as an anchor and reporter for Cablevision.
She was also at ABC Radio Networks and served as news director for a radio station in Morristown, New Jersey worked at several other New Jersey radio stations.
Sandra has received 2 Edward R. Murrow Awards for breaking news/continuing coverage, two Emmy nominations, as well as awards from the Associated Press and the Virginia Association of Broadcasters.
She is a member of NABJ, RABJ, M.A.D.D., RTNDA, IRE, Urban League and NAACP.
A graduate of Rutgers University, Sandra enjoys reading, cooking, traveling, bowling and a good movie in her spare time.
She looks forward to enjoying everything from apple picking to shoreline adventures in Connecticut and can't wait to explore all Connecticut has to offer with her family and her Cocker Spaniel, Shadow.
