NBC CT and the Hartford Yard Goats Partner for Hurricane Harvey Relief Drive

American Red Cross volunteers will be at the Yard Goats' final home game on Thursday evening to collect donations for Harvey victims

If you can't make it to Thursday night's game, there are still many ways to help the people of Texas and the American Red Cross.

NBC Connecticut is partnering with the Hartford Yard Goats baseball team to hold a Hurricane Harvey Relief Drive to benefit the American Red Cross.

The drive will take place at Thursday's Yard Goats game, the final home game of the 2017 inaugural season at Dunkin' Donuts Park in Hartford.  Red Cross Disaster Relief volunteers will be present at the game to collect monetary donations to assist the victims of Harvey.

You'll find Red Cross volunteers at the main entrance to the park at Trumbull and Main Streets and outside the CTFastrak Guest Services Station inside the park.  In addition, volunteers will be roaming the concourse to collect your donations.

The Red Cross will be accepting cash as well as checks made out to the American Red Cross.

The gates to the park will open at 6 p.m. with the game scheduled to start at 7:05 p.m.

NBC Connecticut anchor Gerry Brooks will be at the event meeting viewers and helping give away a special NBC CT gift to Yard Goats' fans who donate during the game.

“The images and stories coming from hurricane ravaged Texas touch us all, no matter where we live," said NBC Connecticut President and General Manager Susan Tully.  "While I’m lucky to call Connecticut my home, I’m a proud native Texan and personally know some of the people enduring this natural disaster. NBC Connecticut is partnering with the Red Cross and Yard Goats because teamed together, we know we can help raise the funds to help those in need.”

If you can't make it to the game or don't have money with you, the Red Cross is also accepting donations online, which can be paid with a credit card or Pay Pal. You can call 1-800-RED CROSS.

“The Yard Goats are pleased to team with our partners NBC Connecticut and the American Red Cross on helping the Hurricane Harvey relief effort,” Yard Goats General Manager Tim Restall said. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Houston.

Standing room only tickets are still available for Thursday night's game.  You can purchase tickets through the team's website or the box office at Dunkin' Donuts Park.
