'I Am Still Not Ok': ‘Westworld' Star Evan Rachel Wood Shares ‘Confession Letter' of Sexual Assault

Wood said she felt compelled to come forward because she no longer feels abuse victims can afford to remain silent

'Westworld' star Evan Rachel Wood took to Twitter Monday evening to share harrowing details of previous sexual assaults, one which occurred at the hands of an unnamed boyfriend.

"Yes. I have been raped. By a significant other while we were together. And on a separate occasion, by the owner of a bar," Wood wrote.

"The first time I was unsure that if it was done by a partner it was in fact rape, until too late. Also who would believe me," she wrote. "And the second time, I thought it was my fault and that I should have fought back more, but I was scared."

Wood's Twitter post coincides with a recent Rolling Stones interview where she shared she felt demonized for years for her past relationship with shock rocker Marilyn Manson when she was 18 and he was 36 and married to Dita Von Teese.

"People would call me a whore when I walked down the street, and you can't not be hurt by that," Wood told Rolling Stone.

Wood said she felt compelled to share her story of sexual abuse now because "I don't believe we live in a time where people can stay silent any longer."

"I am still standing. I am alive. I am happy. I am strong. But I am still not ok," the actress wrote.
