Jailed DC Lobbyist Gets Hollywood Visitor

Kevin Spacey set to star as Jack Abramoff in "Casino Jack"

Actor Kevin Spacey may be twittering about it being a "lovely day in DC," but he's in the capital for more than the nice weekend weather.

The two-time Academy Award winner and film director George Hickenlooper were here to visit jailed Washington D.C. lobbyist Jack Abramoff, Deadline Hollywood Daily reported.

Abramoff, a former Republican lobbyist who is serving a five-year, 10-month sentence for fraud, tax evasion and conspiracy to bribe public officials, is the subject of screenplay "Casino Jack" starring Spacey in the lead role and directed by Hickenlooper.

The story is described as a modern day "GoodFellas" with Karl Rove and other characters from former President George W. Bush's administration, according to Deadline Hollywood Daily.  Filming is expected to start next month.  No word on what scenes, if any, will be filmed in D.C.
