David Spade Pitches In To Help Phoenix Police Buy Rifles

David Spade is in the spirit of giving and pitching in to fight crime – all at the same time.

The Arizona-born comedian paid a visit to a Phoenix police station on Monday to present a check for $100,000 to help purchase rifles for local police officers, according to a press release from the Phoenix Police Department.

“Asking there be no fanfare or media attention, Mr. Spade called last week and said he wanted to donate $100,000.00 to the Phoenix Police Department towards the purchase of rifles to help keep our patrol officers and community safe,” the press release said.

Spade’s donation helps fund a program which had been working towards getting 300 rifles for Phoenix police patrol officers.

“[The program] can now move ahead with momentum thanks to the generosity of Mr. Spade,” the release added.
