Erin Andrews' “Nightmare” Leads to Peephole Epidemic

The Erin Andrews peeping case has caused a minor outbreak of peephole-paranoia in Milwaukee.

Guests at the Ramada Conference Center Hotel in downtown Milwaukee have been on high alert since news leaked that Michael David Barrett surreptitiously recorded the blonde sports reporter through a peephole there, and elsewhere.

Turns out people are worried they may have the same sort of episode so they’re taping all sorts of objects to their hotel room doors to keep the peepers away, TMZ reports.

The staff at the Ramada told the web site that they’ve been peeling Kleenex, paper and even band-aids from the doors of creeped-out guests. The news that Andrews' alleged stalker made videos of other women couldn't have helped the syndrome.

Andrews called her episode a “nightmare,” so it’s no wonder the general public doesn’t want to endure the same embarrassment, but the anti-spying tactics may be a bit of overkill for your average Wisconsin hotel guest.

Andrews was a member of the University of Florida dance team before becoming a sideline reporter and twice garnering the title of “sexiest sportscaster” from Playboy magazine. It’s doubtful the average guest at the Milwaukee Ramada has the same credentials.

Just for good measure, the guy who allegedly taped Andrews, Barrett, is on house-arrest in Illinois, awaiting trial in California.
