Katie Holmes To Honor War Vets In Washington

Katie Holmes is in Washington, D.C. preparing to honor the country's veterans this Memorial Day.

According to People, Katie will take part in the 20th annual PBS National Memorial Day Concert with her "All My Sons" co-star Dianne Wiest.

They will pay tribute to Staff Sergeant Jose Pequeeo, who was injured in Iraq, by sharing his story and portraying his mother, Nellie Bagley, and his sister, Elizabeth, at the concert.

During her rehearsal Katie appeared emotional during the reading, but kept a smile as she exited the stage.

Also expected at the concert are Laurence Fishburne, co-hosts Gary Sinise and Joe Mantegna, and singer Katharine McPhee.
