Larry King and Wife Call Off Divorce

The couple dismisses their divorce case in a Los Angeles court on Wednesday

Larry King hung up his suspenders but he’s clinging on to his marriage.

The 76-year-old outgoing CNN host and his wife Shawn Southwick, 50, filed to dismiss their divorce case Wednesday, nearly three months after announcing their split, People mag reported.

Last month, the “Larry King Live” host revealed that Southwick was recovering from what police have described as an apparent suicide attempt May 28 in Utah.

The couple who wed in 1997, are parents to sons Chace, 11, and Cannon, 9. After Southwick's hospitalization, the Kings said they owed "it to ourselves and our children to continue being dedicated to each other."

King, who holds a Guinness World Record for the longest running show with the same host in the same time slot, has suffered in the ratings of late.

On June 29, King revealed that after 25 years at the helm of “Larry King Live” he would step down from the nightly primetime CNN program in the fall.

"With this chapter closing I’m looking forward to the future and what my next chapter will bring," King said in his statement, "but for now it’s time to hang up my nightly suspenders.”
