“True Grit” Prodigy to Star in Teen Drama

Only short days away from the Oscars, and “True Grit’s” 14-year-old leading lady Hailee Steinfeld has already signed on her next project.

The New York Post reports that Steinfeld’s next project is called “Forgetten,” an adaptation of a cerebral upcoming novel. In the latest Coen Brothers film, Steinfeld plays Mattie Ross, an outspoken (and knowledgeable in prairie law) young thing; in “Forgotten,” her role is drastically different.

Steinfeld will play a 16-year-old girl, London Lane, who has a slight memory issue—every morning, at precisely 4:43, her memory resets and she can only “remember” events from the future.

Steinfeld is nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her scene-stealing performance in “True Grit.”
