Natalie Cole Released From Hospital

Natalie Cole has been released from the hospital in New York and is now back home, Access Hollywood has confirmed.

The legendary songstress was hospitalized last month after falling ill due to the effects of chemotherapy, which was being used to combat liver disease from Hepatitis C.

But after two weeks in the hospital, Cole is finally back home — however, her treatment continues.

“Natalie is in Los Angeles and is receiving kidney dialysis,” a rep for the singer told Access. “This is totally unrelated to her Hepatitis C, which is under control.”

At the time of her hospitalization, Cole, 58, announced all of her October appearances in support of her new album, “Still Unforgettable,” had been canceled.

Last spring, Cole was diagnosed with liver disease, but after several months of treatment she was declared free of the disease. Cole admitted in her 2000 autobiography, “Angel On My Shoulder,” she likely contracted the disease from drug abuse more than 30 years ago.

In an interview with Access Hollywood prior to her hospitalization, Cole said it was the love of her friends and family that helped her in her battle against Hepatitis C.
