Patrick Swayze Released From Hospital

Patrick Swayze has been released from the hospital, his rep confirmed to Access Hollywood on Friday night.

The star, who is battling pancreatic cancer, checked into the hospital with pneumonia on January 9, canceling his appearance at A&E’s TCA event. His new show, “The Beast,” premiered on Thursday.

“I am alive and plan on continuing to stay that way.” Patrick told People earlier in the week. “I don’t plan on being in the hospital long. I am almost in the clear now.”

When reached by phone by Access last week, Swayze’s mother, Patsy Swayze, said her son was “doing as well as can be expected.”
