As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Monday night's new episode of TLC's "Jon & Kate Plus Eight" includes a major announcement on the future of the family.

"Recently, we've made some life-changing decisions. Decisions that will affect every member of our family," Kate said in a promo for the episode. "Ones that we hope will bring each of us some peace."

In clips from the new episode, Kate addressed the turmoil surrounding her family and her marriage, hinting that while the problems between her and her husband were only recently made public, it's something they have dealt with behind the scenes for quite some time.

"We haven't really known where we were going, but we've been dealing with this for a long time," a visibly emotional Kate tells the camera. "[It's] a slow progression that has not popped up one day. It's not been like a secret… We've been dealing with this for a long time."

Having faced allegations of cheating, Jon said it was the attention in the press that pushed the couple's relationship to the breaking point.

"It just got worse and worse and worse," Jon said in a clip from Monday's show. "With all the tabloids and all that, it just made it even worse."

Despite the problems the Gosselins have faced, Kate said she is hoping to look to what lies ahead for their family.

"We can't go back now. We can only go forward and that's what we're going to do," she added. "We're going to learn a lot going forward and I know we'll all come out of this on the other side, hopefully stronger, better, wiser."

The couple reached their 10-year anniversary on June 12, 2009. As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, they spent the day apart.
