Stars Flock To Christmas Tree Lots For Noble Firs

Move over Colorado Bruce Spruce. Take a hike Eastern White Pine. The tree celebrities in Hollywood are flocking to lots to pick up this holiday season (pun totally intended) are the Noble Firs.

According to People, Jennifer Aniston, Julia Roberts, Kate Hudson and Marcia Cross have rushed home with the symmetrical, tall, Noble Firs for Christmas.

In the case of “Bride Wars” star Kate, she wasn’t actually the one making the choice. Instead it was her little son, Ryder, who picked the majestic tree, which is native to the Siskiyou Mountains of Northern California.

“She brought her son to pick out a beautiful tree for her Pacific Palisades house,” a source, who saw Kate and Ryder shopping at Shawn’s Christmas Tree in Santa Monica, told the mag.

But not all stars were swayed by the Noble Fir, also known as the Abies procera Rehd. “Spider-Man” star Tobey Maguire opted for the Abies grandes, aka the Grand Fir.

“Tobey was clever, and he and a friend used a baby blue and older model VW van,” a source who spotted the star picking up his home holiday centerpiece, told the mag. “They just put the tree in the middle of the van. It was a very creative way of getting the tree home.”

And the van was a practical choice too. Grand Fir’s are one of the tallest fir trees, able to reach 300 feet in height.
