Ted Williams Detained at Hollywood Hotel

Williams was in LA for a series of television appearances

Ted Williams, the Ohio homeless man with the voice for radio, was detained Monday night by Los Angeles police at a Hollywood hotel, according to authorities.

Officer Catherine Massey told the Associated Press Williams and his daughter got into a heated argument Monday night at the Renaissance Hotel in Hollywood. Massey said officers took the pair to the Hollywood police station, calmed them down, talked to them and let them go in less than hour.

She described the case as a minor disturbance.

Williams was in LA for television appearances. Earlier Monday, he met with the Lakers.

Late last month, Williams was standing off Interstate 71 in Columbus when he caught the eye of a videographer. The video was posted on YouTube -- then came the television appearances and job offers.
