The fellas let him down: Sitcom vet Ted McGinley dedicated his first dance to “all the guys at home who’d rather be watching football,” but on Wednesday night, the guys didn’t return the favor and vote. Ted was voted out after just two dances. It’s a shame, really. After McGinley's mambo wowed the crowd Tuesday, it seemed that flatfoot restaurateur Rocco DiSpirito or little-known teen star Cody Linley should have gotten the boot.
Unfortunately for Ted, the early eliminations sometimes go to decent dancers. Sure, he was hardly the best hoofer in the house, but the actor showed potential. And he was worlds better than insult comic Jeffrey Ross.
No joke, he’s gone: Speaking of the roastmaster, Jeffrey is history, too, getting the boot Tuesday night in the biggest non-surprise in show history. The comedian suffered a partner-inflicted eye injury in rehearsals, but that had nothing to do with the unfortunate cha-cha-cha that followed. The performance even inspired the judging panel to pull out their rarely used “four” paddles. Ouch!
Although Tuesday night spelled the official end of Jeffrey’s moment under the mirrored ball, he and pro Edyta Sliwinska were invited back Wednesday to show the crowd their quickstep-that-might-have-been on the results show. The verdict? That chaotic cha-cha-cha wasn’t a fluke.
Wild on Brooke: After raking in top scores for the first two dances of the season, Brooke Burke is clearly the one to watch. The TV host’s cha-cha-cha had Len Goodman and the gang raving, and she showed viewers she was worthy of all the praise by following it up with a quality quickstep.
For now, Brooke’s dancing in a league of her own, but the competition’s hot on her heels. Look for Misty May-Treanor, Toni Braxton, Warren Sapp, and Lance Bass to challenge to current dancing queen in the coming weeks.
Keeping up with the moves: Baby got back, but that doesn’t mean she knows how to use it. After failing to impress the judges with her foxtrot, Kim Kardashian attempted to shake her backside alongside reigning champ Mark Ballas in the mambo. The problem for the “Keeping up with the Kardashians” star is she’s just not very good at it.

That’s entertainment: “Dancing with the Stars” turned into “Laughing with the Legend” this week, as 82-year-old Cloris Leachman made up for a lack of ballroom basics with a hammy sense of humor. She even tried to sway the officials with her gram-gams. When that didn’t work, Cloris offered cash. A whopping ten spot to each judge didn't seem to improve her scores, though.
