"Tonight Show" host Jay Leno walked out of a California hospital today after he checked himself in Thursday with an illness that has been determined to be mild.
His publicist, Dick Guttman, said doctors found that Leno's illness wasn't "symptomatic of anything serious." On Friday, Guttman said he couldn't provide details of what ailed Leno when he checked into the hospital.
People.com reported that Leno suffered from an apparent case of dehydration.
A repeat of "The Tonight Show" aired Thursday night and another rerun will air tonight. It was the first time Leno missed a show because of illness.
Guttman, said Leno left his office at NBC Studios in Burbank Thursday at about midday. He checked himself into a hospital for observation and stayed overnight.
"Jay Leno is doing just fine," said show representative Tracy St. Pierre. "He was kidding around with the hospital staff and running his monologue jokes by the doctors and the nurses. He's expected back to work on Monday."
Guests learned of the cancellation Thursday afternoon. Some arrived at the studio and said they were told of the host's illness.

"We got some nice 'Tonight Show' pens," said Danny Curtis, who was left holding a show ticket and pen. "It's a consolation prize. We will not leave penless."
"At least we know how to get here now," another guest said as he left the studio entrance.
The scheduled guests were Ryan Reynolds, Jules Sylvester and swing band Big Bad Voodoo Daddy.
Leno, who will be 59 Tuesday, is scheduled to leave the show May 29. The 17-year run with the show will end, but Leno will remain with NBC -- beginning this fall, he will host a show in the Monday-Friday 10 p.m. time slot.
