Gloria Allred Doc ‘Seeing Allred' Lands on Netflix

"Seeing Allred," a documentary on attorney Gloria Allred, begins streaming Friday on Netlfix.

Netflix describes "Seeing Allred" as "a candid look at one of the most public crusaders against the war on women." It examines her legal efforts against President Donald Trump and comedian Bill Cosby and features interviews with author Gloria Steinem, CNN anchor Don Lemon, attorney Alan Dershowitz and Allred's daughter Lisa Bloom, also an attorney.

"Seeing Allred," was nominated for the grand jury prize at January's Sundance Film Festival.

New York Times reviewer Ken Jaworowski called "Seeing Allred" "a documentary that's remarkably engaging despite treating its rough-and-tumble hero with kid gloves."

A fixture in Los Angeles legal and media circles since the late 1970s, Allred's recent cases have included filing a proposed federal class-action lawsuit against disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein and his former film companies, alleging he employed the so-called "casting couch" throughout his career to facilitate the harassment and sexual assault of women, and representing a black woman who accused Walmart of racial discrimination with her claim that it kept beauty products designed for black people in a locked glass case at a Riverside County store while products for other races were displayed on open shelves.
