'Gossip Girl' Actor Ed Westwick Denies Rape Allegation Leveled by Woman on Facebook

Westwick's accuser said she was triggered by the recent outpouring of women telling their tales of sexual abuse following the Harvey Weinstein scandal

"Gossip Girl" actor Ed Westwick took to social media to categorically deny a rape allegation leveled at him by a woman claiming he sexually assaulted her three years ago in his home.

Westwick's accuser, Kristina Cohen, said she was triggered by the recent outpouring of women telling their tales of sexual abuse following the Harvey Weinstein scandal and felt compelled to speak out.

"I was briefly dating a producer who was friends with the actor Ed Westwick. It was this producer who brought me up to Ed’s house where I met Ed for the first time," she wrote. "I said I was tired and wanted to leave, trying to get out of what was already an uncomfortable situation. Ed suggested I nap in the guest bedroom. The producer said we would stay for just another 20 more minutes to smooth everything over, and then we could leave."

Cohen continues, "So I went and laid down in the guest room where I eventually fell asleep, I was woken up abruptly by Ed on top of me, his fingers entering my body. I told him to stop, but he was strong....  I couldn’t speak, I could no longer move. He held me down and raped me."

Westwick responded on social media denying the account and saying he does not know the accuser.

Calls to Westwick's attorney were not immediately returned. He currently stars in the BBC Comedy “White Gold.”
