Obama to Appear on Seinfeld's ‘Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee'

They took turns circling the South Lawn in a 1963 Corvette Stingray Split Window Coupe and sat down for coffee in a basement staff dining room at the White House

President Obama recently took a ride in a classic car and got coffee with Jerry Seinfeld.

The famous comedian stopped by the White House on Dec. 7 to tape an episode of "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee," which will kick off season seven of his award-winning Web series, the White House said in a press release.

"Growing up in the '60s my kid dream was always to be an astronaut—doing a comedy show with President Obama in and around the White House felt like going into space," Seinfeld said, according to a press release from Crackle, which streams the web series. "How did I get here? Is this really happening? The president's humor and generosity are the only reasons this was even possible. He was so easy and fun to be with. Being president and just a cool guy to hang out with at the same time made the experience my own personal moonwalk. It was an unforgettable day."

Unlike previous episodes, where Seinfeld took high-profile comedians and entertainers for a spin around town, the president and Seinfeld did not leave the White House complex. Instead, they took turns circling the South Lawn in a 1963 Corvette Stingray Split Window Coupe before walking through the Map, Diplomatic and China Rooms, the White House said.

The two also sat down for coffee in a basement staff dining room to discuss life at the White House.

Seinfeld's interview with Obama will stream on Dec. 30 at 11:30 p.m. ET on Crackle and Comediansincarsgettingcoffee.com.

Other guests on the six-episode season include Will Ferrell, Steve Martin, Garry Shandling, Kathleen Madigan and Sebastian Maniscalco. Episodes will stream every Wednesday night at 11:30 p.m. ET.
