Rapper A$AP Rocky Charged With Slapping Philly Fan

The district attorney's office says a concertgoer claimed the 24-year-old Harlem-bred rapper, whose given name is Rakim Mayers, slapped her Saturday as he walked through the crowd of dancing fans and tried to wave some of them away.

The name of the woman who filed the criminal complaint wasn't released.

The private criminal complaint states the rapper landed an open-palm slap square on the woman's face, giving her whiplash.

The D.A. has reportedly charged Rocky with misdemeanor simple assault.

The two-day festival took place last weekend on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.

Despite the City assigning extra police and fire crews to the area, two other females were also allegedly assaulted during the concert.

Rocky's first album, "Long. Live. ASAP," debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 earlier this year.

A message left at the artist's publicity agency was not immediately returned Thursday.
