“Saturday Night Live” cast member Cecily Strong will headline the annual White House Correspondent’s Association dinner on April 25, the group’s president announced in an email Wednesday.

“Her political humor is sly and edgy, and it comes with a Chicago accent,” WHCD President Christi Parsons said.

Strong, who joined "SNL" in 2012, will be the fourth woman to serve as guest-comedian in the event's 82-year history.

The 30-year-old comedian was a co-anchor of "SNL's" "Weekend Update" segment and is known for her character, “The Girl You Wish You Hadn’t Started a Conversation with at a Party."

She has a connection to the news world too. Her father, Bill Strong, was the former Associated Press bureau chief at the Illinois Statehouse.

This year's dinner was headlined by "The Soup" host and actor Joel McHale.
