Shailene Woodley Breaks Her Silence After Being Arrested for Criminal Trespassing During Protest

Shailene Woodley is speaking out after being arrested in North Dakota.

In an Instagram post Tuesday afternoon, the actress continued her fight against the construction of the of an oil pipeline.

"One day, baby, we'll sing our poetry. The words dripping from our tongues wet with ripened patience," she wrote on social media. "And the lyrics, the sweet fruits born from the seeds our aging hands are now sowing. #alwaysinallways #heartforward #uptous #NoDAPL #protectcleanwater #iamonyourside."

The message comes after the actress' rep confirmed to E! News Monday evening that she had been released from Morton County Jail in North Dakota.

Earlier in the day, the "Fault In Our Stars" star was peacefully protesting the Dakota Access Pipeline when she was arrested for trespassing.

Followers of the actress were able to watch it all unfold on Facebook Live when Shailene recorded everything that was transpiring.

"I don't know if you guys just heard me, but I was walking back to my RV, which is right there so that we can go back to camp peacefully and they grabbed me by my jacket and said that I was not allowed to continue," she told her viewers. "And they had giant guns and batons and zip ties and they're not letting me go."

When Shailene tried to ask the cop a question, police responded, "We can't talk right here, but you're going to be placed under arrest for criminal trespassing."

The Morton County Sheriff later confirmed to E! News that Shailene was in fact arrested for criminal trespassing. Twenty six other people were also arrested.

"She appreciates the outpouring of support, not only for her, but more importantly, for the continued fight against the construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline," Shailene's rep shared with E! News after the actress was released from jail.
