Sandra Bullock is queen of the box office.
The 50-year-old "Gravity" star easily tops Forbes' Highest Earning Actress in Hollywood list with $51 million. The magazine interviewed agents, producers, lawyers and other industry insiders to determine how much each celebrity earned from entertainment-related work between June 2013 and June 2014.
Bullock and Melissa McCarthy co-starred in last summer's hit comedy "The Heat," and Bullock earned an Academy Award nomination for her role in "Gravity." She lost Best Actress, but the film won seven Oscars.
Jennifer Lawrence, meanwhile, earned $34 million. The 23-year-old actress' performance in David O. Russell's "American Hustle" earned raves, and she reprised her roles as Katniss Everdeen and Mystique in "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" and "X-Men: Days of Future Past," respectively. The second installment in "The Hunger Games" franchise earned more than $424 million domestically on a reported $140 million budget, while the "X-Men" sequel made $231.7 million domestically on a reported $200 million budget.
Jennifer Aniston finished in third place with $31 million, thanks to the surprise success of "We're the Millers" and endorsement deals with Aveeno and Vitamin Water. In addition to receiving royalties from "Friends" reruns, the 45-year-old actress also co-owns the Living Proof hair care line with Chris McMillan.
Gwyneth Paltrow earned $19 million in a 12-month span, due in large part to her supporting role in the blockbuster "Iron Man 3." In addition to profiting from her Goop lifestyle brand, which features a website and a weekly newsletter, the 41-year-old actress is a paid spokesperson for Max Factor and Hugo Boss.
Last year's top earner, Angelina Jolie, ties for fifth place this year with Cameron Diaz. Though she hadn't appeared on the big screen since 2010, the 39-year-old "Maleficent" star took home an impressive $18 million. Diaz, meanwhile, made "The Other Woman" on a reported $40 million budget. The movie earned $190 million at the global box office. The 41-year-old actress also starred in "The Counselor" and released "The Body Book: The Law of Hunger, the Science of Strength, and Other Ways to Love Your Amazing Body."
Impressive as that may be, women are still paid less than men. Forbes' top earning actors brought in a combined $419 million, while the magazine's top earning actresses brought in a combined $226 million.
