Bryce Dallas Howard Admits There Was Pressure Stepping Into ‘Eclipse' Role

Bryce Dallas Howard has admitted that stepping into the role of evil vampire Victoria in "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" wasn't easy.

During an appearance on "The View" on Tuesday to support her new film, "Loss of A Teardrop Diamond," Sherri Shepherd asked the redhead if taking on the part, originated by Rachelle Lefevre came with some pressure.

"Yeah, yes, very much so," Bryce said.

In July, it was announced that Summit Entertainment had parted ways with Rachelle over a scheduling issue and Bryce was thrust into the "Twilight" spotlight when the studio announced she was taking over the role.

Although there was some controversy over Rachelle's dismissal, including a short, public war of words between the actress and the studio, Bryce revealed that Rachelle was very kind to her.

"I felt really grateful to the cast and to everyone and actually Rachelle herself just was so gracious," Bryce said. "Really, the intention is just to make the best film possible and you know, it was really terrible what happened but I did my best."
